At Tampa Marine Tuning, we are excited to offer Nizpro's performance tune for 8 Cylinder Yamaha outboard Offshore engines. With Nizpro's performance upgrade, your 300 or 350 horsepower engine can increase to 425 horsepower. Fuel Economy will vary by model and boat setup but on average we see a 15% increase in MPG. See tuner's notes below for a case study on a 43' Everglades.
NOTE: To achieve optimal performance, your engine must run on minimum 89-90 USA grade / 95-98 AUS grade octane fuel and adhere to recommended service intervals. Failure to do so may result in decreased performance and could potentially damage your engine.
**Multi-engine discount automatically applied at checkout.**
Tuner’s Note:
Most of our V8 offshore customers generally have a twins/trip/quad setup. If you have a boat with more than one engine we assume that while saving some money on fuel would be nice, it might not be your primary concern considering the thing cost about as much as a house. For you maybe the Bahamas are just out of reach with your fuel capacity, maybe there are a few coordinates that you just cant hit without adding an auxiliary tank. A 15-20% increase in fuel economy means you can go 15-20% farther on the same tank. Go farther than the other teams in the tournament, or maybe you can finally make the run to the Bahamas with your wife and kids, like she's been nagging you about.
43' Everglades Case Study: as an example we tuned a 43’ everglades with 4x350’s that went from .5 to .7 mpg. Assuming he’s filling at a marina, and runs his boat 200 hours a year, hes going to save somewhere in the realm of $20,000 a year on fuel. Not only that but his range increased from ~306 miles, to ~509 miles per tank, allowing him to go farther and fish longer. We generally expect 15-20% but in this case the customer got a 40% increase in MPG.
FAQ: Will tuning my Yamaha 350 affect my flywheel issue?
For certain production years of the V8 F350 Offshore there is a manufacturer recognized flywheel issue. To help them minimize warranty claims Yamaha implimented a counter within the ECU that tracks the amount of hours spent between 3400-4250 RPMs, as this is the area where the inbalance affects the motor the most. Every 80 hours in this range the ECU will set a check engine code to service the part. The Nizpro tune will not affect the computer's ability to count the hours spent in this range, nor will it affect the ability for you to have the service performed.
Find your ECU ID
Your engine's ECU can be found in one of several locations in the engine case depending on year, make, and model.
Typical V8 ECU Location: Forward, middle.
You will need your ECU ID to purchase a software upgrade. Follow the link to our ECU Removal Guide video for guidance.
